DESERT SAFARI TOUR DUBAI
One of the most popular safari tours in Dubai is the half day desert safari with BBQ dinner and belly dance show. So, we had to experience this tour as we have never been on a desert safari tour before. We selected the ABC tour company for our adventure and their package included pick-up and drop off from our hotel, camel ride, henna, Shisha, a full BBQ dinner with soft drinks and a live belly dancer show.
The tour started when the safari jeep picked us up in front of our hotel Grosvenor House in Dubai Marina. The drive to the desert took about 45 minutes. Then we started to ride on the sand dunes of the desert. The most thrilling part of the desert safari was the roller coaster ride over the sand dunes. We also made a few stops in the middle of the desert to take some photos and to watch the spectacular sunset.

Then we continued our journey to our own Bedouin safari camp. On the arrival we were welcomed with Arabic tea and dates and we also took a short camel ride. The camp was in the middle of the desert with lovely setting offering different huts with souvenirs, drinks, food, Shisha (the famous Arabic water pipe) and henna painting (at no cost). It was like arriving to the 1001 Arabian night fairytale. On the floor there are Persian carpets and rugs with cushions on which you can sit and watch the Arabian show.
The program starts with a tannura show (a magical performance, by a young man) and as the night approaches, the show continue with the belly dancer’s amazing performance. The safari program was crafted in such a traditional way that immediately took us to our own Arabic fairytale.
After the Arabian show, you will be escorted to the BBQ dinner menu, where you can taste all the traditional Arabian dishes (different types of rice and sauces, grilled vegetables, chicken, lamb and fish). As the night continues you can relax at Shisha hut and enjoy A peaceful evening under the stars.
We had a lot of fun on this tour and would recommend it to everyone visiting Dubai. Also, a big thank you to our driver, who was really friendly, helpful and was happy to answer all our questions.
You have to try the Arabic coffee at the safari camp and don’t forget to shake your belly with the belly dancer!
