Park Hyatt Vienna is located in the heart of the most exclusive shopping district in Vienna called Goldenes Quartier. The hotel was build in a 100-year-old building that formerly served as the headquarters of an Austrian Hungarian Monarchy Bank. The place is a part of Vienna’s First District, which is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In a walking distance, you can see the city’s most important sights, including St. Stephan Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace and all the historic monuments and museums that Vienna has to offer.
Upon our arrival, we were friendly greeted by the staff members and escorted to the reception area. The check-in process went smoothly and we were upgraded to the beautiful park suite. The suite was elegantly decorated with exquisite décor and had a king size bed, small working area, sofa and a fully stocked personal bar and in-room refrigerator. Elements of wood and marble gave the suite a lovely touch. A spacious marble bathroom with separate bathtub and rain shower also had heated floors, flat-screen TV in a mirror and exclusive amenities designed by Blaise Mautin. Included was also a complimentary high-speed Internet, flat screen television in the bedroom, Bose sound system by the bed, in-room safety deposit box and a complimentary coffee and tea making facilities.
Restaurants & Bars
There are so many interesting facts about the hotel. For example, the Bank Brasserie & Bar is located in the former cashier hall and you can see the details in the dining area. This is an all-day dining restaurant and features European Brasserie classics created from regional Austrian products. We had a lovely buffet breakfast at the restaurant with so many choices to choose from. The food was delicious and the staff members always happy to help.
Café Am Hof is located on the ground floor and represents a classic Viennese coffeehouse with an international flair. During the warmer months, you can sit on the outside terrace and watch the world pass by while enjoying a coffee along with homemade sweet treats.
While you are visiting the hotel you can not miss the Living Room. It is the place where you can sit and relax while enjoying your favorite cigar and a sip of whiskey.
Spa & Wellness
Another interesting fact about the hotel is definitely hidden in the spa area. Where gold and money were once stored in the past, today an oasis of silence awaits, inviting you to relax and a refuel your strength. Yes, you heard it right! The spa is located in a former bank vault. The architect’s idea was to place Arany Spa in the very place where the bank had its vault and the concept of the spa around this vault was developed.
This 1,000 square meter area offers a selection of exclusive body treatments and massages, a 15-metre indoor swimming pool, as well as cardio and strength training in the extensive fitness center. There are also six treatment rooms, including one for couples. Additionally, the spa offers a separate wet area with sauna, steam bath, vitality shower and relaxation area.
