The Residence Mauritius ranks amongst the finest hotels in the Indian Ocean. It is situated on a beautiful white sand beach with spectacular views of the turquoise blue waters of the ocean.

The Residence Mauritius is situated on the east coast of Mauritius 48km from the airport. The east coast is dotted with several lagoons and tiny cove beaches, ensuring shelter from the cool southeast trade winds, as well as the stunning long stretch of beach named Belle Mare. The hotel itself is nestled on a mile-long beach among hundreds of palm trees and lush tropical gardens with scenic views of the azure Indian Ocean.
How to get there
Mauritius is a beautiful island located in the Indian Ocean situated off the southeast coast of the African continent. The island can be easily accessed by a 12-hour international flight from all major cities in Europe. It is also a 4-hour flight from Johannesburg or a 6-hour flight from Dubai. The airport is located in the south of Mauritius approximately an hour away from all major touristic spots on the island. The main method of transport is by taxi or private car when on the island.
The Residence Mauritius is inspired by the island’s impressive plantation houses. The hotel blends modern elegance with a classic colonial style that wraps you in a charming sense of nostalgia. Wander through the beautiful gardens, enjoy the pristine white beach or just relax by the pool with a cocktail in your hand. The Residence Mauritius has 135 rooms and 28 suites. They are all luxuriously decorated and have a spacious living area with a desk, a large king-size bed, a marble bathroom with a walk-in closet, and a private terrace with views over the garden or the sea. The room’s decor is elegant and decorated with neutral colors and honey-colored woods. A butler is assigned to each suite and room and will unpack and pack your luggage, take care of the laundry and provide an ironing service.

Mauritius is a unique blend of several cultures and that is why the cuisine is so special and diverse. And if you love cooking, they even organize cooking lessons where the Chef will show you how to make local dishes at home.
There are three main restaurants where they serve seafood, local specialties, Creole, and Western dishes.
The Dining Room (Contemporary World Cuisine)
This beautifully positioned restaurant, overlooking the pool, serves breakfast and dinner. The whole restaurant is made entirely out of dark wood and there are indoor or outdoor dining options available. The Dining Room serves both western and locals specialties with Mauritian spices and flavors.
The Plantation (Oceanfront Dining & Entertainment)
If you walk through the beautiful gardens of the hotel, you will arrive at the oceanfront restaurant called The Plantation. The beautiful setting and exquisite food have made this restaurant one of the favorite dining places on the island. The Plantation combines the freshest seafood and Creole cuisine mixed with authentic local flavors.
The Verandah (Light Lunches)
The Verandah offers laidback lunch with an immense choice of dishes from the daily menu to toasted sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and homemade ice creams.
The Bar (Afternoon Tea & Evening Cocktails)
The best place to gather after dinner is The Bar, where you can kick back and relax with a cocktail or a glass of wine. Every evening there is a live music and dance performance.
The Gourmet Kiosque (Sweets)
Close to the swimming pool, you will find a small kiosk serving delicious sweet snacks such as waffles, pancakes, and an assortment of ice creams.
Spa and Wellness
The Sanctuary offers unique spa experiences from massages, custom-made programs to beauty treatments. At this zen-like relaxation temple, you can relax and get pampered with spa rituals inspired by luxury French brand Carita. The Sanctuary is dedicated to the wellbeing of the body and mind and features eight tranquil treatment rooms for individuals or couples. There is also a spa pavilion located in the center of the tropical garden overlooking the lagoon for a unique treatment season.
The large, lagoon-like pool is a central feature of the resort – the perfect spot for relaxing, soaking up the sun, and having a splashing good time with the family.
The Residence Mauritius offers numerous activities in and on the water as well as plenty of action on dry land. There are three tennis courts, the fitness center, and even golf and horse riding can be arranged. The water sports include scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, water skiing, windsurfing, Hobie Cats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat trips, and a catamaran cruise.
The Planters Kids Club
Children from 3 to 12 years have complimentary access to the Planters Children’s Club where a team of professionals will keep young guests entertained with activities such as treasure hunts, snorkeling and cooking classes, pony rides, and much more.
