SOLANA HOTEL AND SPA MALTA

Solana Hotel and Spa Malta is located in the very heart of a typical Maltese and Mediterranean village, Mellieha. This is the quieter part of Malta, where you can discover lovely villages and take a trip to the nearby islands of Gozo and Comino. The islands are renowned for their incredible sights, which include historic gems and lovely beaches.

HOTEL

The hotel is a great option for those travelers coming to Malta wanting more relaxed and peaceful vacation. To put it briefly, this is where you’d come to actually enjoy your stay in Malta and discover what it’s like to live here with locals as opposed to being shacked up in the tourist-heavy part of town.

ROOM

Check-in was smooth and simple. When we arrived in the afternoon a friendly girl on reception quickly sorted us out with a key and instructions to reach our room. The room was spacious, with free Wi-Fi, small kitchenette, sofa, balcony and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable night of rest. We were also greeted with a nice basket of fruit and fresh orange juice. Which was a very nice touch! The room itself was a bit dated for a four-star hotel and should be renovated, especially the bed which I must say it was not comfortable at all. So, this should be noted!

RESTAURANT

The breakfast area was large and had plenty of options to choose from. For dinner there was a buffet where you could choose whatever you liked from soup, appetizers, to main dishes and deserts. The food was average!
Leisure facilities include a rooftop swimming pool, panoramic sun deck, gym (should be improved!), spa and indoor swimming pool.

One of the biggest highlights of the hotel is certainly the location. This is an amazing part of the island, with a lot of hidden natural spots, famous Popeye Village and it is also Very close to the ferry which will take you to the island of Gozo.

BOOK THIS HOTEL IF…

If you’re looking for a peaceful location, an older crowd of people and a good price, then this is the hotel for you. It’s the perfect choice for travelers visiting Malta on a reasonable budget – looking for a place to stay in the part of the island where you can still enjoy the traditional villages, unspoiled countryside, delicious cuisine and clean Mediterranean waters.
