Day Trips from Paris you Have to Take
If you have visited Paris before you know that there is so much to see and do that you may not want to leave the city at all. But if you decide to venture out of the city, we have prepared day trips from Paris you have to take. There is something for everyone from breathtaking castles, amazing landscape to authentic Parisian food.
Versailles
One of the must do day trips would definitely be Versailles. It is a perfect trip outside of the city. You get to escape to wonderful French châteaux with breathtaking gardens and the iconic Palace. Go explore the amazing town of Versailles with a museum, markets, cafés, and brasseries. You will enjoy a day at the Parisian countryside with many photo opportunities of this wonderful landscape.

How to get to Versailles?
Versailles is approximately 50 minutes away from Paris. You can book a day trip with one of the travel agencies or you can simply go with ReR (start from Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame and go directly to Gare de Versailles Château Rive Gauche).

Fontainebleau
Another French Château you probably should visit is Fontainebleau. It has an amazing exterior and lovely forest that is now a national park and visited by over 11 million people each year. If you prefer less touristic spots, then we would recommend Fontainebleau instead Versailles.
How to get to Fontainebleau?
Fontainebleau is approximately 50 minutes away from Paris and you can take a direct train from Gare de Lyon.

Chantilly
If you only have a half day to visit a place outside of Paris, we would recommend you to drive to the Picardie region and visit Chantilly and its Château. Within the Château itself, you’ll find Musée Condé, the second largest art collection in France after the Louvre.
How to get to Chantilly?
Chantilly is just around 25 minutes drive from Paris. You can get there by direct train from Gare du Nord.

Meaux
Meaux is totally different than the above-mentioned towns. There are no great Châteaus here. It is the site of Roman ruins and has one of the largest World War two museums in the World. The town itself has plenty of character and unusual architecture. It is famous for its own brand of brie called Meaux Brie and has many great restaurants with delicious food. So, spoil your taste buds and enjoy this lovely French town.
How to get to Meaux?
Meaux is around 40 minutes train ride away from Paris. You can take train P from Gare de l’Est.
