Upon our arrival, the friendly staff welcomed us at the front desk with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. This is their signature cookie which tastes delicious.
DoubleTree by Hilton is an excellent choice if you are in town for business or leisure because of its great location and easy access to the vibrant downtown area and the business district. There are only 15 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. The hotel offers a complimentary 10-minute shuttle ride to the famous V&A Waterfront and from there you can visit all the sights like Table Mountain, wineries and the museums in the city.
As mentioned before the hotel is perfect for business meetings and seminars as it has nine versatile conference and banquet venues for up to 350 guests. There is also a complimentary fitness center on-site and Liberty’s Restaurant serving fusion cuisine and traditional dishes.
The hotel itself is very modern and stylish decorated, with crystals hanging from the ceiling and a big staircase in the lobby. Because of the location, it has impressive views over the Devil’s Peak. We had Queen Guest Room which was quite small, with a queen-size bed, small desk, and walk-in shower. Room amenities like air conditioning, LCD flat panel TV, hairdryer, high-speed internet, iron and ironing board are all included in the room rate.
If you are on a business trip or you would like to stay somewhere more peaceful, then we would recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town for your stay. It is close enough to all the sites but at the same time away from the hustle of the city center.
