Flight Simulator

One of the amazing things we did while we were in Singapore was flying the flight simulator. This was an exciting and unforgettable experience.
The guys from SG Flight Simulations picked us up from the airport and we immediately went to their first location at the Simulation Centre Changi. The center was opened for business in 2013 and here you can experience the most realistic journey of flying a plane in a full motion A320 cockpit. They offer different course packages for professionals to train and to get accustomed to an Airbus A320 cockpit. The Simulation Centre Changi is available for hourly lease with the support of the instructor.

For entertainment market, you can visit either the above mentioned Simulation Centre Changi or their Orchard Centre office. We tried both simulations and I must admit I liked the Simulation Centre Changi better, because of the full motion cockpit wich makes the whole experience more realistic.

The Orchard Centre was opened in 2011. It is located in the shopping mall on the 4th floor and it was built strictly for entertainment purpose and clients without any flying experience. It is easily accessible either by taxi, bus or MRT. You can visit the flight simulator with your friends or family and you will definitely have a great time. They offer different flight packages with many destinations to choose from. You can even pick up the weather conditions in which you would like to fly and the time of the flight. The well-trained instructor will be by your side and will show you all the things you need to know before flying the A320.

Airbus A320

The Airbus A320 is a two-engine short-to-medium-range narrow body airliner with a capacity of maximum 180 Passengers produced by the European manufacturer Airbus S.A.S. It is powered by either CFM International CFM56-5 or International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 engines.

The Experience

When you arrive at your desired destination, you will be friendly greeted by the personal. Your own trainer, called the First Officer will guide you through the whole process and answer all your questions. He will show you the cockpit of the flight simulator and explain everything you need to know before take off. You can choose from more than 20,000 airports and of course in what weather conditions you would like to fly. Our advice is to start with something easier and as you get to know the cockpit a bit more, try the difficult airports and maybe a night flight.

Packages

You can choose from different packages. The basic package is 30min and includes a lesson on the basics of controlling the A320 aircraft and a short flight around the airport. The other package is 45min where you will be able to attain a greater understanding of flying and try a bit more take-offs and landings. Then there is a 60min experience which allows you to perform a real-time city flight to your favorite destination. And the last package is a 90min package which will allow you to access some of the world’s most spectacular cities and airports.

Conclusion

If you are one of those who wonder how it would be to fly an aircraft then you will definitely enjoy this experience. You will perform a take-off in a realistic cockpit with the First Officer by your side. He will guide you through the whole process and help you land the plane. Of course, you can choose from many destinations and enjoy the realistic views of the airports around the world.
