Nimali Central Serengeti Africa
Nimali Central Serengeti is a luxury tented camp in the central Seronera area in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The camp is close to Makoma Hill, offering complete seclusion and great access to the annual migration and the Big Five.
Like its sister property Nimali Tarangire, Nimali Central Serengeti is a stylish tented camp elegantly and comfortably furnished with all the necessary luxuries of wild, yet classic safari. With only six tents the camp has been designed to provide guests with an authentic safari experience and great wildlife viewing all year round.
Location
Nimali Central Serengeti is located in the heart of Serengeti in northern Tanzania. This area is renowned for its large herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetah, and hyenas. Between the months of March and June, the wildebeest migration herds can be found in the central Serengeti, making their way up slowly to the northern plains.
Flights from Arusha to Seronera take one hour and from Manyara around 40 minutes. From the airstrip, it is a vehicle safari of around 45 minutes into camp, with a good chance of early animal sightings along the way.
Serengeti
Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of the most renowned wildlife parks in the world and is well known for its great migration. The variety and sheer numbers of wildlife in the Serengeti is unmatched to anywhere else in Africa, which is why it is such an integral part of a Tanzanian safari. The Serengeti is a very large national park in Northern Tanzania and is also one of the greatest wildlife reserves in East Africa. The area is best known for its massive wildebeest migration, which is a rolling year-round spectacle. The Serengeti is well worth visiting at any time of year, usually as part of a longer overland safari through the region.
Camp
The camp is surrounded only by nature. There is no other camp in sight and the views are spectacular. The central lounge and dining areas contain two separate tents, fairly close together. The lounge is laid out with sofas and coffee tables dotted with photo books and decorative lanterns, while tasteful wildlife photographs decorate the walls.
In front of the dining tent, there is an open fireplace where a fire is lit every evening. You can enjoy a romantic dinner by the fireplace illuminated just by lanterns hanging from the acacia tree. Spectacular!
Tented Suite
Nimali Central Serengeti has eight en-suite tented rooms, which have a panoramic view out to the Serengeti plains. The tented rooms provide an authentic safari experience but the modern furnishings, elegant decorations, and well-appointed bathrooms make them the height of luxury when you walk in! The bedroom is very spacious and includes a wooden writing desk, a cozy chair, open-fronted wardrobe, and a freestanding fan. The bathroom has a double vanity basin, a shower, and a flushing toilet. Each tent is tastefully furnished and has fixed doors, Persian carpets & spacious private verandas where you can sit and relax after a long day.
Dining
The food service at Nimali Central Serengeti is quite high quality. There is a lovely breakfast served every morning with diverse choices of food. If you go on a game drive, they will prepare a light lunch to take with you.
Dinner is always a four or five-course meal served in the main dining area or out by the campfire.
Activities
You can choose from many different activities while you are staying at Nimali Central Serengeti. They can arrange game drives, champagne bush breakfast, bush lunch, bush dinner, and even hot air balloon ride.
Game drive
This central part of the Serengeti is famous for offering very solid wildlife viewing year round and vehicle safari is usually the best method for viewing wildlife in the bush. The animals are quite habituated to the presence of vehicles and do not feel threatened.
Balloon safari
The Serengeti is the original home of the balloon safari and this remains a very popular activity. The experience unavoidably involves a very early wake-up call and an hour-long drive to the location. The flight itself usually lasts 30 to 60 minutes, ending up with a traditional champagne breakfast out in the bush. It is an unforgettable experience.
Conclusion
