Room
Upon our arrival, the friendly staff members immediately welcomed us and presented us with all the information about the Palais Hansen Kempinski and of course a key to our room. We stayed in a spacious Junior Suite with king size bed, separate seating area, bathroom with bathtub and a shower and working desk. There was also a Minibar, Nespresso Coffee Machine, I-Pad, Entertainment System, Flat screen TV and a safe. The suite was furnished with dark wood furniture and light blue accents.
A special touch in the room was definitely the iPad Entertainment System, which covered everything from room service to outdoor activities. You can schedule your spa-appointment, order in-room-dining, control the room temperature via the air condition and much more. So, it was nice to see how Palais Hansen Kempinski combines history with modern luxury amenities.
Restaurants
Palais Hansen Kempinski has two restaurants, one bar, and a cigar lounge. For a perfect start into the day, you should visit the exquisite breakfast at “Die Küche” and in the evening, for fine dining, we suggest Michelin star restaurant called “Edvard”. On our visit, the restaurant Edvard was closed (it is closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays), so we dined at an international restaurant “Die Küche”.
Die Küche
We had an excellent breakfast in the morning with plenty of choices to choose from. Eggs, yogurt, pastries, jams, meat, cheese, fruit, fresh juices, muesli, vegetables and much more. It was a perfect start of the day!
For our dinner, we were seated in another area of the restaurant. The restaurant is divided into three different areas and offers a perfect atmosphere for every event. Our two-course dinner started with their signature dish Tartar of ‘’Wienerwald beef’’ with toast and pickles. The tartar was made fresh in front of us. For our main dish, we received char fish with peperonata, lentils, and lime. The dinner was delicious and our waiter friendly and helpful.
In the afternoon you can enjoy Ladies or Gents Tea at the Lobby Lounge & Bar and in the evening plan a visit to the Cigar Lounge, for a glass of whiskey and a relaxed night.
Other Facilities
Spa
Unfortunately, on our visit, we did not have the time to use the spa but if your schedule permits do book a treatment or go for a massage at their modern spa facilities.
Flower shop by Kunstgärtnerei Doll
Since 1929, “Kunstgärtnerei Doll” is well-known for its lush and colorful arrangements, which are featured at the Vienna Opera Ball. You can order flower arrangments for birthdays, weddings or any other occasion right at the hotel.
Bussines Centre
The hotel has its own business center with meeting rooms and different services like printing, scanning, faxing…
Conclusion
If you are looking for an impressive hotel in the city center, near to all the attractions, then look no further. Palais Hansen Kempinski is an international hotel with the Heart of a Viennese. Modern yet historic, with beautiful rooms, first class concierge service, friendly staff members, amazing restaurants and remarkable history. It’s a special place in the heart of Vienna.
