The Siam hotel is perfectly located if you wish to do a bit of sightseeing while you are in Bangkok. The hotel is situated alongside Chao Phraya River in the historic Dusit district. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport and if you wish to visit Khao San road it will take around 10 minutes with the tuk-tuk. The location of the Siam hotel offers easy access to the city’s main temples and museums and you can get anywhere in the area by hopping on the hotel’s riverboat.
The Siam sits on the edge of the historic heart of Bangkok. This urban resort is an escape from hustle and bustle of the city. It was founded in 2012 by Krissada Sukoso Clapp and designed by hotel guru Bill Bensley. The design is classic and elegant with marble corridors and colonial style aesthetics. The rooms are spacious with views over the garden or the river. There is a gym, movie theatre, spa, pool and a restaurant with amazing food. The hotel is an experience on its own and definitely worth a visit.
The hotel offers a variety of rooms, suites, and villas. Each of them has their own unique interior design with high wooden ceilings with bronze fans, large king size beds and beautiful bathrooms with shower and standalone bathtub. The rooms also have a large working area, leisure corner and modern amenities like coffee machine, a smartphone that provides the latest info on whats on in Bangkok. All stays at The Siam also include breakfast in the restaurant, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, private butler service and complimentary boat service.
The Siam has three restaurants where you can enjoy delicious cuisine. The Chon restaurant serves classic Thai cuisine, the Deco Bar & Bistro offers a great selection of western dishes and Cafe Cha is a classic patisserie, ideal for afternoon tea. We had a lovely high tea experience at Cafe Cha when we arrived at the hotel. The cafe is located just off the lobby and offers delicious pastries, biscuits, and sandwiches with freshly brewed coffee. In the evening we had an amazing dinner at the Chon Restaurant which serves classic Thai cuisine on the pier with spectacular views of the river. Chef Damri and his team will bring to your table only the freshest, finest local produce, expertly prepared, and anchored by their respect for timeless Thai flavors. The food was really incredible. We had a nine-course tasting menu and every dish was pure perfection.
If you wish to enjoy pre-dinner drinks then a visit to the Deco Bar & Bistro is a must. Here you can have casual chich dining or drink a cocktail or two before heading to the town.
When you are at the pool area there is another bar called Bathers Bar where you can order a refreshing drink or light snack.
When you stay at the Siam Bangkok you will get your own butter and he will arrange everything for you including all activities. On our first night, we had a beautiful sunset cruise on the Chao Phraya River and it was a lovely way to experience the river and its incredible sights.
On the second day, we decided to visit a few temples and to try the traditional Thai sport called Muay. Muay Thai is not simply a fighting sport, it also helps to increase your fitness and emotional wellbeing.
Our butler was simply amazing as he organized everything for us from the sports activities to the cultural sightseeing experiences. He showed us around the hotel, helped us with our restaurant and transfer bookings. He was our friend in the city.
